Hello All,

I am using polycom IP 331.

I have configured corporate directory option (with MS AD) on phone which is working fine.

In the sip.cfg LDAP parameter are mentioned including dir. corporate user and password.

Currently this password is in plain text and viewable/readable.

is there any mechanism so that  password can be encrypted ,and  it cannot be viewable/readable.?

Or any config file encrytion (like sip.cfg) will solve my issue?

I am using polycom UC software 3.2.4 currently.

Your help is appreciated.

Regards

Hello amogh ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This is a seriously outdated software so you may want to consider upgrading the unit.

Configuration File Encryption is possible but you need to contact Polycom support via your Polycom reseller as we need to check some of your details first before being able to share the way the configuration must be encrypted.

It has to do with export restrictions.

Another way could be to simply use a certificate and chose HTPS or FTPS as a secure communication.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
