I have a Polycom IP7000 Conference phone with BootRom version 4.3.1.0440 and it is not playing a ringer when there is an inbound call, and when I go into Settings > Basic > Ring Type and press play the speakers pop and the phone reboots.  Has anyone else seen this behavior?

It is always useful if a poster provides a bit of history regarding their issues. Has this happened from day one or did you do anything to it and it has since then started to behave like this.

My apologies, it was a new installation installed only a month ago and we were having trouble with the system connecting to an IP Office.  The software was upgraded to the version listed above and was then able to see connect to the IP Office.  However incoming calls did not play any ringer, so I went into the menu and pressed play on the ringer and resulted in the IP7000 rebooting and have been able to recreate it every time.

above is the BootROM Version and not the SIP  / UCS Version.

 

The FAQ list's how you check your Software Version.

 

I can only assume that a wrong/old configuration has been applied. Check your Boot and App logs on the Server or contact your Polycom Reseller to bring this to the attention of Polycom Support.
