Polycom Phone will not take voice message

We have a VVX Polycom phone system. I have a problem getting voice messages. When someone calls and I don't pick up, the recorded answer plays, then the phone hangs up without beeping to record a message. I have restared the phone and gone through the menus to see if there is something I did to play my message only, with no luck. This seems to have stared about a week ago when I stopped getting phone messages. I started checking into it when a customer told me she tried to leave messages twice with no success.

Hello Carlson,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Most importantly is to understand the the Voicemail system is actually not related to the phone at all and could be anything.

 

Please therefore contact whoever installed your system as only they can provide details and instructions.
