Hello,

We have two different VoIP accounts which I was trying to configure in our Polycom SoundPoint 550. But it looks like the setting doesnt accept different "Outbound Proxy" for different accounts. I have even tried through provisioning server where I could not see an option to configure "Outbound Proxy" for different lines.

Is this true or am I missing something? If it is true, I cant see the legitimate point of having more than one line unless all the lines are from the same VoIP providers (where we could configure more than one line and also use BLFs).

Please advise.

Regards.

Hello keerthi,

It is always useful to post the current Software version.

The community FAQ contains the following post:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Can I register or is my Polycom Phone compatible with a “XYZ” SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Additional Lines can be added in order to have separate Registrations.

BLF only supports one individual Server for registration so you are unable to have a mix of BLF's on multiple servers.

You can have multiple lines and one BLF registered to one of these Servers.

Hello Steffan,

Thanks very much for your response. That was very helpful.

The version that we ve got is SIP 3.2.1. In the web interface, I can see only one outbound proxy setting under SIP -> Servers. Is there a way to specify the outbound proxy seperately for every line.

I am aware that if we upgrade to UCS 3.3.X or higher, I ll be able to get this config. But unfortunately, our provider's provisioning server works only with SIP 3.2.X or lower. Now I have got another account where I am trying to configure either through phone interface or web interface (do not have access to change config in provisioning server).

Is there a way for it?

Regards,

Keerthi.
