This is our 3rd IP 6000 conference phone and the only one we are having issues with.

When set to DHCP mode the phone consistently says "Failed to get boot parameters from DHCP"

When set to Static mode the phone boots but says "Network link is down"

Is it possible that the network port is defective? Is there a way to test for this?

SIP Version: 3.3.4.0085

BootROM: 4.3.1.0440

***EDIT***

I've just been given some more information - this phone in particular was able to connect to the network and get an address via DHCP until someone attempted to install some wireless microphones.

Hi Matt,

To test the network port, I would connect a PC in between the phone's port, and the LAN, a PC that has 2 network cards, and they are bridged together.

Then you can use Wireshark, or another packet capture program, to see the traffic to/from the phone. Then you can see if the DHCP request is being sent out, and if there's a response from your DHCP server.

Your problem could also be that your DHCP server has no IP addresses left, the pool has been exhausted by installing the new devices. Checking the log file on your DHCP server, or the lease table should show you if this is the problem.
