Hi,

I have a Polycom Soundstation IP 5000 that doesn't allow three-way speech. I call the first outside line up and answer it (using my phones to test it). Once I answer it I get two-way speech from the mobile I've just rang and then the Soundstation. I then proceed to put the first call on hold and then a second phone. I answer the call from another mobile and also get two-way speech. After testing the speech in the second call I press the conference softkey or the join softkey to join all the calls together. When the conference call is active the first call has speech, but the second call doesn't.

The system it is running off Samsung Officeserv 7100 and the software version for the SoundStation is 4.0.12.0926 with the bootrom 5.0.12.0033.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Thomas Lancaster,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I suggest you check the User guide for the IP5000 => here <=

Hosting Conference Calls

You can create a conference with up to two other parties. After you set up a conference, you can place the conference call on hold, split the conference call into two calls on hold, or end the conference call (and your connection to the conference call participants).

Setting Up Conferences

You can set up a conference in one of two ways:

  • Using the Confrnc soft key.
  • Using the Join soft key, if you have an active call and a call on hold.

To set up a conference using the Conference soft key:

  1. Call the first party.
  2. Press the Confrnc soft key. The active call is placed on hold.
  3. Enter the number of the second party, and then press the Send soft key.
  4. When the second party answers, press the Confrnc soft key to join all parties in the conference, as shown next.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
