We have four conference rooms and each has a Polycom 7936 speakerphone. We have to re-arrange these rooms quite often and when we doo we have cables running through the tables that have to be disconnected and reconnected. On several occasions now we have burned up the power supplies or the triangle connector when we plugged back in. Is there a sequence on how to unplug and replug?

Hello markainaustin,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Please be aware that these units are only manufactured by Polycom but the Units Software and Hardware Support is provided by our Partner Cisco.

To my knowledge the Cisco 7936 Units come with a specific cable between the unit and the Power supply connector.

If these original cables with a special plug are replaced with normal network cables someone moving the units may accidental plug these into a network connection. This is not possible if the original cable is used.

I would suggest you ensure first that only original cables are used on these units and then work with Cisco on the follow up questions.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
