Polycom Trio 8800 Self-view\Camera or Layout Button on Home screen option

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the selfview or the camera control button on the home screen of the polycom Trio 8800 or even the layout button will be great, instead of asking staff to click on the not so obvious quick access menu.

We are having issues with staff moving the camera to avoid being seen in some meetings. If we can have a toggle for the camera on/off on the home screen this will be amazing.

Thanks,

Re: Polycom Trio 8800 Self-view\Camera or Layout Button on Home screen option

Hello @Joe85,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

The feature you are asking for is currently not implemented and would require a feature request

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Re: Polycom Trio 8800 Self-view\Camera or Layout Button on Home screen option

It's possible to turn off the self view by default when not in a call, which I find helps with many users when they enter the conference room. Same for the default when they join a call.  One tip I heard from Cisco was that they leave self view off in all situations to avoid the "uncomfortable" scenario you're describing.

Once they join a call, the option to disable the camera is front and center on my latest (5.5.4) phones.

Re: Polycom Trio 8800 Self-view\Camera or Layout Button on Home screen option

Hello all,

I believe the question was to move the buttons from the "hamburger" menu to the idle screen which would be a feature request as already explained.

We already have a configuration parameter to disable the self view:

Mar 31, 2017 Question: Customize the Trio Self View in Idle state or during a call?

Resolution:Please check => here <=

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.

In addition to this Trio UC Software 5.5.4 => here <= also introduced the default layout mode.

If the options already available within the current software are not sufficient for your specific use case then please go ahead with the feature request route as already outlined.
