Hello,

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the selfview or the camera control button on the home screen of the polycom Trio 8800 or even the layout button will be great, instead of asking staff to click on the not so obvious quick access menu.

 

We are having issues with staff moving the camera to avoid being seen in some meetings. If we can have a toggle for the camera on/off on the home screen this will be amazing.

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

It's possible to turn off the self view by default when not in a call, which I find helps with many users when they enter the conference room. Same for the default when they join a call.  One tip I heard from Cisco was that they leave self view off in all situations to avoid the "uncomfortable" scenario you're describing.

 

Once they join a call, the option to disable the camera is front and center on my latest (5.5.4) phones.

Hello all,

I believe the question was to move the buttons from the "hamburger" menu to the idle screen which would be a feature request as already explained.

 

We already have a configuration parameter to disable the self view:

In addition to this Trio UC Software 5.5.4 => here <= also introduced the default layout mode.
