Upon upgrading a custmers VVX handsets to the latest 184.108.40.20681 firmware.
We have noticed that the Lync normalization External Prefix is no longer honoured.
Within Lync 2013 we can enter a dialling prefix that can be appended in front of each number dialed (to emulate old pabx outside access code) this number is then removed from the dialled digits to the trunk.
The polycom vvx handsets now give a busy signal whenever the external access prefix is dialled.
This was not a problem in 5.3 or earlier.
Has something been changed that Im unaware of?
Hello Ant Craig,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Prior to UC Software 5.3.0 the default value for reg.1.applyServerDigitMapLocally was 1.
Since UC Software 5.3.0 and later based on Customer demands the reg.1.applyServerDigitMapLocally="0" was changed.
The Polycom® UC Software in a Microsoft® Lync® Server Environment documents this as:
What the above means is in this state we simply send whatever you dial to the LYNC server. You need to setup a rule on the LYNC server to cover this scenario or change back to teh old behavior.
In addition UC Software 5.4.0 is not officially LYNC certified. I would suggest using UC software 5.3.1 instead.
