Hello, I'm wondering if you can change the off hook behavior of dialing * in the config file.
The default gives you and option to dial * twice to enter a + sign. Can I disable this behavior?
Thanks,

Hello Mwilliams,
anything 5.3.x is old and unsupported. Please update to a current software like 5.5.0 or at least to 5.4.5
In addition you can use: call.internationalDialing.enabled
- Use this parameter to enable or disable the key tap timer that converts a double tap of the asterisk “*” symbol to the
“+” symbol used to indicate an international call. By default, this parameter is enabled so that a quick double tap of
“*” converts immediately to “+”. To enter a double asterisk “**”, tap “*” once and wait for the key tap timer to expire
to enter a second “*”.
When you disable this parameter, you cannot dial”+” and you must enter the international exit code of the country
you are calling from to make international calls.
Changes you make to this parameter cause a restart or reboot.
Note that this parameter applies to all numeric dial pads on the phone, including for example, the contact directory.

Hello Mwilliams,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Read First"
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
In addition it contains this:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference or Digitmap issues
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Hello, This is SIP firmware 5.3 on a VVX 400.
This doesn't seem to be a digit map issue as I can dial **. The problem is that the * key brings up the option to dial a + sign if you dial it twice. You have to wait for the timeout to actually dial a *. I'm wondering if you can disable this?
