Hi,

We have a number of VVX phones (400/500/600) which we are evaluating, current Polycom phone deployment is CX600 which fully integrates with Lync 2013 software.

What I would like to do, and know if it is possible, is have the ability to dial Lync users directly from the Lync client interface, i.e. select the person and click 'call' and have the phone dial, currently trying this does not work.  The user is dialled in Lync, but the phone does not do anything as there is no USB integration between the phone and desktop PC - a USB connection between CX 600 to PC exists.

Is Lync software dailing possible with the VVX series of phones?

Sorry if this is silly question, I've research for the answer without success.

Thank you

Hi,

Resolved the issue today, NTP server was set and time was correct.

The fix was related to the login credentials on the phone, although the phone authenticated correctly using ext. number and pin.  On the phones GUI under settings/lines/line1/authentication/ 'use login credentials' was disabled, enabled this and BtoE is now working as it should.  During testing I must disabled this and not re-enabled it.

Thank you for you guidance.

Regards

Mike

Hello Mike,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

You may want to look at our interpretation called Better together over Etherner = > here <=

Please be aware, once your evaluation period is over, of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:

The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found => here <=

Thanks for the reply Steffen.

I have installed BtoE (ver 2.0.0), but I have the following happening...

The VVX 400 powers up, signs in automatically, BtoE finds the phone and 'pairs', so far so good.  But, Lync after maybe 10 seconds displays a message stating the phone will have limited functionality unless I sign out of the phone and sign into Lync client.  I  click 'ok', and a Lync login box appears. I sign into Lync 2010 successfully, and the phone pairing is lost as the phone powers down and back on.  Upon powering up, the pairing is re-established, but the same routine happens again.

If I elect to click 'cancel' when prompted with the Lync limited phone functionality dialog box, the phone remains paired with BtoE, I can dial using the 'call' Lync button, the call appears on the phone display and dials, but no voice signal can be heard when answered, at which point the phone reboots itself.  It powers up and pairs with BtoE software.

Phone software version is 5.0.1.7310 (previously tried 5.0.1.4068), Lync client is Lync 2010, version 4.0.7577.4415

Both the phone and PCare on the same vLAN, so no firewall in the way, Windows firewall set to allow all BotE and Lync traffic.

Is there anything you could point me in right direction to help?

Thanks again.
