Hi,

I'm trying to set a screen saver on my VVX 500 by changing the mac.cfg file from the server, but for some reason nothing changes in the phone once that I enter the config. Here's the content of my mac.cfg:

<ucs>
<mb>
<mb.idleDisplay.home mb.idleDisplay.home="https://www.8x8.co.uk/images/8x8-logo-new.png?1464273895" />
<mb.idleDisplay.refresh mb.idleDisplay.refresh="40" />
</mb>
<up>
<up.idleBrowser.enabled up.idleBrowser.enabled="1" />
<up.screenSaver.enabled up.screenSaver.enabled="1" />
<up.screenSaver.type up.screenSaver.type="2" />
<up.screenSaver.waitTime up.screenSaver.waitTime="1" />
</up>
</ucs>

I've been able to change the screen saver from the phone GUI, but I need to be able to do push it from the server as well for a customer. Does somebody now what could be wrong? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Fernando

Hello ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

The <mac>.cfg does not hold any of the above so I would suggest you post what you got and we tell you where you go wrong.

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for your reply. My UC version is 5.4.4.6105.

I've tried again adding the following config to the mac.cfg file:

<ucs>
<mb>
<mb.idleDisplay mb.idleDisplay.home="http://www.instant-bridge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/polycom-logo-commercial-av.jpg" mb.idleDisplay.refresh="10">
</mb.idleDisplay>
<mb.main mb.main.home="https://pcmb.8x8.com/vo-pro-php/?user=0455479705">
</mb.main>
</mb>
<up>
<up.em.smartpaging.enabled="0"/>
<up.screenCapture.enabled="1"/>
<up.screenSaver.enabled="1"/>
<up.screenSaver.type="2"/>
<up.screenSaver.waitTime="1"/>
</up>
</ucs>

This time after updating the configuration on the polycom I get "Unknown network error" in the background (see screenshot attached). I've tried using different http/https links with the same result. Do you know if that config is correct or something needs to be modified?

Kind regards,

Fernando

Hello Fernando_,

I would assume some kind of firewall is preventing this. I just tried this and it works with your Link.

I would check CURL logs and maybe Copy.
