Hi folks,

Do the phoneLock and autoOffHook features work together?

As soon as I enable the phone lock (phoneLock.enabled="1" phoneLock.lockState="1") then the auto dial (call.autoOffHook.1.enabled="1" call.autoOffHook.1.contact="1000") stops working.

Is there a way to make the auto dial when off hook work when the phone is locked?

Regards
Chris

Hello @otw ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

These two are a bit tricky to use together as one cancels the other functionality. What is the use case for locking the phone?

Have you tried to set up a phoneLock.authorized.1.value with the same number as the call.autoOffHook.1.contact?

This way you press 1 key to make the call and select the number and still can call the emergency services.

Hi Steffen,

The use case here is that the phones are in public areas and need to be able to contact a single operator whilst having all other options/features locked out.

I do have phoneLock.authorized.1.value set as the same number as the call.autoOffHook.1.contact but it just doesn't seem to fire autoOffHook

AutoOffHook by itself allows users to still dial any number and access features.

PhoneLock puts "Emergency" as the first option in the list, and parties are just lifting the handset and pressing dial without reading the options, so calls are going to Emergency services by default, which is not ideal.

If I could remove or reorder the DeviceLockAuthList so that "Emergency" is not the default option, just using PhoneLock would be sufficient. But I would prefer to have autoOffHook working with phoneLock

Note: I am running base profile "Generic",

Chris

Hello @otw ,

We call these types of phones common area phones. I have done a similar thing in the past for a VVX 201. In that case it was for Skype for Business and a specific Customer request so some of the suggestion would be obsolete.

In the above, we disable the Menu Button so no access is given. Maybe also have a look at :

Apr 01, 2015 Question: How can I turn a Polycom VVX Business Media Phone into a Common Area Phone?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

If you still have issues, and none of the other volunteers have any ideas, please work with your Poly reseller as they are your Tier 1 contact,

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support. Available End User Poly services offerings are detailed here

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
