Hi,

 

I have an IP 550 that will not boot.  I performed a factory reset, and set into standalone mode (DHCP enabled, FTP, and 0.0.0.0) -- when it tries to boot I get

   countdown (n seconds to autoboot

   Waiting for network to initialize

  Could not contact boot server. using existing configuration

   Error loading <MAC_Address>.cfg

   Rebooting

 

If I press "about" during the countdown, I see 

   Server: Resolving

   IP Address: Resolving

 

... yet, when I look at the router, it shows the device connected, and its correct MAC Address

 

Very much appreciate any suggestions

What is the history on this device?

 

  • Is it a brand new out of the Box unit or an old unit?
  • Has this worked before?
  • Do you have a provisioning server so it can reload it's application which it most likely lost?

No -- previously owned/used

 

  • Has this worked before?

Yes, but then failed to register

 

  • Do you have a provisioning server so it can reload it's application which it most likely lost?

No, I don't have one now.  I could set one up, but the messages on the phone suggest that it's not establishing a successful network connection, so I thought I might be wasting my time?
