I have a few Polycom IP320 and 321 phones that work fine and registered through TFTP.
There are about a dozen that are either stuck in a reboot loop stating "image not compatible with phone"
Or one 320 that displays it's MAC and IP only.
I've tried to create new templates that don't have a firmware in the settings, doesn't change anything.
Tried to download a newer firmware from Polycom and put it in another slot in a new template, nothing changes.

Can't realy connect to the web interface of the phone as i either get a message that the page cannot be displayed or the phone reboots.

From what i've been able to see in comparing two IP320

Working has main version: 3.3.5.0247, bootrom: 3.2.3.0021

Not working: 2.1.1.0037, bootrom: 4.3.1.0440

Thanks

Hello Jmarc,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I suggest you forget the whole FreePBX provisioning and setup your own Provisioning Server

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

UC Software 3.3.5 and BootROM 4.3.1 are the latest supported for this type of phone.

Hello Steffen,

Thanks for the info, but since it's working on some phones and not others, why create another provisionning server?

My phone network is on a seperate network than the main one.

All phones where working when they were on our old Asterisk 1.4 which died.

I'm able through some routing to access the web interface of the phones, but since they're not on version 4.x, there's no firmware change possible from there.

Isn't there a way to flash the phones to get all the same firmware?

Thanks

Hello Jmarc,

I know nothing about the past of these phones, aka the fact that they used to work with an Asterisk server as you  had not told us this prior to your reply.

I only know that they do no longer work with the current provisioning platform.

Setting up your own independent FTP server will also allow you to analyze the logs and using the DHCP Option 66/160 as described in the FAQ post will automate the phones contacting the server and loading the correct firmware.
