Hi,

I'm trying to provision Polycom VVX 500 with firmware 5.4.0 (and other VVX, SPIP, SSIP with 5.x. fi) using a Master Configuration file on a Central Provisioning Server and want to confirm whether under CONFIG_FILES, we have one file referencing multiple cfg files and then can we have one of the referenced file to reference other files further down.

Example:

%BWMACADDRESS%.cfg

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
<APPLICATION APP_FILE_PATH="" CONFIG_FILES="phone.cfg,custom.cfg,sys.cfg" MISC_FILES="" LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="" OVERRIDES_DIRECTORY="" CONTACTS_DIRECTORY="" LICENSE_DIRECTORY="">
</APPLICATION>

custom.cfg

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
<APPLICATION APP_FILE_PATH="" CONFIG_FILES="feature.cfg" MISC_FILES="" LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="" OVERRIDES_DIRECTORY="" CONTACTS_DIRECTORY="" LICENSE_DIRECTORY="">
</APPLICATION>

Will these example lead to feature.cfg being requested by the phone? If so, what happens if there are duplicates entries in phone.cfg and feature.cfg?

Example:

phone.cfg

feature.hoteling.enabled=0

feature.cfg

feature.hoteling.enabled=1

Will the phone use the value 1 or 0?

Regards

BRM

Hello BRM,

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.

The above clearly states:

  • Having the same parameter in multiple different files will set the value found in the first file and ignore any other values for the same subsequent parameter.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
