I recieve the events about 2 seconds after they occur, is there any way to speed that up ?

I have seen where others have documented/observed this issue, I believe if you could make the connection persistent or supprt httpu:// it would speed up the process. What I am seeing is that every message must establish a TCP connection, send the Data, then disconnect.  I have the process down to a 1.25 second delay, I need to get it under .2 sec.

Hello Bob,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

A good starting point is always to include the currently used software.

It simply also depends what kind of configuration is running on the SoundPoint IP as the Event's are not really meant to be a instant real time notification.

I believe the timing you are describing is within the specifications that the phone is operating.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I have opened support ticket 1-499890921 on this issue as I see this feature as being degraded by the way the data is being delivered.  Having Timely data is as important as getting the data.  If there was an option to make the connection persistent then you would not lose the 1 second for establishing a connection each time the data is delivered.  Less desirable would to support HTTP over UDP ("httpu://")  as it is connectionless but data delivery is not assured.

Hello Bob,

the feature is at at present as is and I am not aware of any way to speed this up using the working as designed functionality.

Any changes to the current behavior i.e. changing the protocol etc. would need to be requested via a feature request through your Polycom reseller and worked with a Polycom SE in order to create a business case to justify the change.

The Ticket you raised is for a unit that has been sold back in September 2008 so it is well out of warranty.

Best Regards
