Hello Ryan Heng,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

A good starting point is usually to at least provide the planned amount of phones you expect to provision so someone may be able to give some advise.

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above explains how to simply use FileZilla as a provisioning server.

You could also use an IIS or Apache server. It all depends on the load you want to throw at it.

Hi

Rather than use Filezilla, I used <removed>

Very simple to use.

Upload the software to your <removed> account (i used their free <removed> file manager software)

reboot your phone and select setup

point the phone to <removed>

add oyur user name and password

save and reboot.

It took me about 10 minutes to do it. very easy

Hello fothers,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have removed the reference to the comercial 3rd party as we do not allow advertisements.

If the original poster wanted to use a hosted solution he could simply utilie Polycom's ZTP service via their reseller.

Hi Steffen

Thanks for the pointer; I didn't consider it a commercial site as the accounts are free of charge. Anyway I know now.

Also does the site <removed due only being for customers with Polycom support tickets> belong to Polycom as it would seem this is the easiest way to provision a phone.

regards Ian

Hello fothers,

I have again removed the reference to the Polycom support server as this is only intended for Polycom support customers as a workaround and does not have the capacity for End User provisioning.

The original post was about the requirements for a local server and not a hosted solution.

Polycom Customers can use the Polycom ZTP server as explained => here <=
