Hello Lightjag,
The community's already contains quite an extensive VoIP => FAQ <= and this contains this post here:
Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button / use EFK?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Simply follow the examples in there.
If you would like certain features to be activated as a standard please work with your Polycom reseller in order to contact a Polycom sales engineer to justify such change via a business plan.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello Lightjag,
not sure if you had made any progress but I can provide a working 1 button solution as follows:
<recording feature.callRecording.enabled="1" feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled="1" softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="Record" softkey.1.use.active="1" softkey.1.precede="1" softkey.1.action="$FSoftkey5$$Cpause1$$FSoftkey3$$Cpause1$$FSoftkey2$" />
I must admin it is not very logical as the Softkey's not match but it works both with LYNC or SIP.
It has a 1 second pause between the commands so it is not instant but it will record and you or the user can either manually pause the recording or stop it all together.
Please be aware that depending on local laws you must make the other party aware that you are recording the call.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards

That didn't work for me, this one does.
<recording feature.callRecording.enabled="1" feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled="1" softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="Record" softkey.1.use.active="1" softkey.1.precede="1" softkey.1.precede="1" softkey.1.action="$FSoftkey5$$Cpause1$$FSoftkey2$$Cpause1$$FSoftkey2$" />

This over a year old post initially discussed using this on UC Software 5.0.1
Since then the position of the record softkey has most likely changed.

From the outside, seems like a very vibrant and helpful community. Just got my first Polycom phone and am excited to join.
My apologies for not mentioning the software version I’m running:
5.5.1.11526 on the VVX600
I tried to install this EFK yesterday with no success, (under utilities and soft key management I tried to add it as a macro)
although it’s quite possible that I did it incorrectly and need to go back and double check.
When I have some more time I will go back and play around with it and see if I can get it to work. I’m also not certain what would need to be modified, if anyone has suggestions it’d be greatly appreciated. I’m sure others would be interested as having to push a few buttons prior to recording can be a bit cumbersome.
Thanks again for your reply, I look forward to future discussion.
