Using UC 401+, it is possible to set up two separate SIP registrations (on an IP311 in this particular case), where the "second" registration is used only for MWI messages (in other words, it has no line appearances and will not make or receive calls)?

Hello 24x8,

 

the MWI functionality depends on a registration. Without a registration (line) to a server the MWI will not work.

OK, I assumed it needed a registration, but does that registeration have to be on one of the "hard line" keys on the IP331? In other words, is there a way to define a registration that doesn't have a line appearance? It would still be registered with a SIP proxy in the normal way (so it would have a "line", just not one that would actually place/recive calls), in order to receive the MWI messages.

a registration via the phone is archived via a line. We do not support pseudo registrations.
