Hello Arie,

again the post => here <= contains all the relevant information and your post is lacking simple facts as if you added the standard username or password.

In addition running a separate wireshark instance on the same PC filtering for any traffic to the phone would show you if the PC can even reach the phone as there may be firewall restrictions in place.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Arie,

When you added the config file did the phone reboot?  If not, it needs to be rebooted.

Are you able to telnet from the capture station to the phone on port 2002?  If it works you should just get a blank screen in telnet.  Any connection failure message means either you have a firewall stopping the traffic somewhere or the PCAP service is not running on the phone.

I am with Arie on this, can we see an example of a config with the diags features in it?
I do not know where in my config I should be adding these lines and this question remains unanswered in this post or posts that have been linked to this one.

Hello Taylorp22,

I have closed your other post as we do not need a new post.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition you did not answer my original question either.

It is always useful to simply get a backup of your configuration so you can double check if what you assume is loaded via a config is actually part of the backup.

Is this on the same network or can you provide more details on your setup and maybe even the phone type?

I just updated the Remote Capture FAQ with troubleshooting tips so please follow these and the next step would be to open a Support Ticket.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I am using UC software version 5.5.2 and my question is where in my existing config file I should place these lines? Please advise.

Hello Taylorp22,

as already stated multiple times you still have not answered my original question.

In addition as already outlined simply importing the FAQ post configuration will enable you to test this.

Please open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

The config files I posted still work on the current version.  You should be able to copy the line into your current config.  I don't recommend having the remote Pcap enabled unless you are using it.  You can also use the Web UI to import the enable or disable config file to turn it on or off.

FYI, The phone will automatically reboot when importing either config file.

HP Recommended

When I export the config I find these lines:

diags.pcap.enabled="1"
diags.pcap.remote.enabled="1"

does this means the phone has loaded the configuration? I continue to get a no remote interfaces found message in wireshark.
