Renaming Broadsoft Directory in Polycom VVX Phones

Hi All,

Does anyone if it is possible to rename the Broadsoft Directory to a customised name.  Ideally i would like to customise it to reflect the relevant company name which is using the phone as it is that company's direcotry entries not Broadsoft's entries.  :)

A customer of ours has asked the below.

I don't understand the logic of naming a corporates' directory with the name of the company who makes the software. To make an intuitive system having the ability to name your corporate directory should be a simple process. I look forward to hearing what polycom have to say regarding this request?

Regards

Robert

Re: Renaming Broadsoft Directory in Polycom VVX Phones

Hello Robert,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 26, 2015 Question:How can I change the Polycom pre-translated Language on Polycom Phones?

Resolution: Please check this post => here <=

The same is applicable to change certain menu's so you could look at:

<phrase i="2263" t="BroadSoft Directory" t.VVX_101_201="BroadSoft Dir"/>

The above directory differs from the "normal" corporate directory so we named this after the technology partner offering this functionality.

If the above does not work or is not sufficient enough for your end customer I suggest to work with a Polycom Sales Engineer.

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Re: Renaming Broadsoft Directory in Polycom VVX Phones

Hello Robert,

the above linked FAQ post explains how to change the dictionary. It does not explain how to add something to the phone configuration.

Please change this in the correct file containing the language you are testing.
