I am implementing intercom/paging in my environment.  I do so in my dialplan with a simple little context that contains the following:

exten => s, 1, SIPAddHeader(Alert-Info: Ring Answer)

exten => s, n, Page(SOME_DIALSTRING)

Now this works all fine and well, but my main problem is that as soon as the Page application takes control of the channel, the caller can begin speaking.  However, the phones always ring _once_ so the beginning of what the caller is saying can be lost.  Is there some SIP header I can use that Polycom phones will respect that immediately causes them to pick up with zero rings?

Thanks.

Hello redwolf,

You have already answered your own question. Your string contains the word ring.

Please check the FAQ and the matching admin guide.

Best regards

Apologies (I haven't been here in awhile and forget where things are) where exactly might I find these resources?  Can you link to the page(s) that contain them?

As usual, thanks for the assistance Steffen.

Hello Redwolf,

as outlined in my signature the FAQ should be consulted,

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Oct 25, 2011 Question: How can I change my Ringtone or Ring in a special manner for a certain incoming call?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The Admin Guide for your yet unknown software version can be found on our support portal => here <=

The different ring classes are described in the <rt/> section.

Best Regards
