Hi,

I have a VVX 601 phone that is responding to a SIP INVITE with a 200 OK message that includes Bandwidth Information in the SDP.

Bandwidth Information (b): AS:512
Bandwidth Modifier: AS [Application Specific (RTP session bandwidth)]
Bandwidth Value: 512 kb/s

I am looking for how to stop the Bandwidth Information/Bandwidth Modifier from being included in the 200 OK.

Thanks

Kevin Bohn

Hello @KVB ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package

  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

The phone details that I have are:

Model VVX 601

Part Number 3111-48600-001 Rev:A

MAC Address 64:16:7F:37:E4:D0

IP Mode IPv4IP

UC Software Version 5.7.0.11768

Updater Version 5.9.0.9355

The call platform is Asterik

The related issue is audio distortion on the leg from the VVX 601 phone toward the CPE when a second, concurrent call is offered to the phone. I would like to eliminate the Bandwidth Information/Bandwidth Modifier from the SDP in the 200 OK message to see if that has an impact on the audio distortion heard by the caller of an established call when a second call is offered.

Hello @KVB

are you using the VX with a Camera?

Preferences > Video Processing > General and disable the Video?

No video, just audio.  Phones have been in service for about a year.  Its likely that the phones have always been signaling in this manner but have another location where the phones do not include Bandwidth Information in the SDP and there is not an audio distortion issue.  I have had no success figuring out what is causing the inclusion of the Bandwidth Information in the SDP.  It might not be the cause of the audio distortion but I would like to eliminate it as a possibility.

Thanks for the suggestion.
