I am working on a SoundPoint IP 500 and joining it to ringcentral.  In the directions for assisted provisioning it says that under server menu you can change the "Server Type" to be HTTP.  HTTP is not listed for me.  There are FTP and Trivial FTP not HTTP.  I flashed the Bootrom to 4.1.3 and SIP to 2.1.3.  Is there a way for me to select the server type to be HTTP?

Thank you for any help.

You probably have to press the left or right navigation keys instead of the up or down to get to the HTTP option.

I've got the same issue. Was wondering if anyone figured this out. Doesn't matter if I use up/down or left/right on the Server Type menu. It only has "Trivial FTP" and "FTP". Here's the info from the unit:

Model: SoundPoint IP 500

Assembly: 2345-11500-020 Rev:A

BootBlock: 2.4.0 (11500_020)

Bootrom: 3.2.3.0002

Application: SIP

Version: 2.1.3.0028

P/N: 3150-11530-213

Hello all,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Not knowing the origin of these phones they may have been special versions for service providers or others where these options had been removed as a factory setting.

As these phones are no longer supported you will have to provision them using the protocol that is supported by the phone.

Best Regards

I

am working to get 3 legacy phones SoundPoint IP 500 to connect to ringcentral for remote employees.  In the directions for assisted provisioning it says that under server menu in the settings menu on the phone  you can change the "Server Type" to be HTTP.  HTTP is not listed for me.  There are FTP and Trivial FTP not HTTP.  I flashed the Bootrom to 4.1.3 and SIP to 2.1.3.  The latest and last supported versions.  The admin guide lists this as an option.  I have reset the phone to factory defaults multiple times and reloaded and loaded the latest Bootrom and SIP.    These phones were previously used with our in house PBX which is no more and the company is out of business.  I have gone to Polycom for support but they do not support the phone anymore and want me to buy new phones, which I am not authorized to do.    Is there a way for me to select the server type to be HTTP?    I have been at this for 3 days now and all I have is a phone that boots just fine but cannot connect or be provisioned to our new cloud based solution.
The details on the 3 phones I have are all the same.

Hello Vin Marconi,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The availability of certain features always depends on the currently used or supported software.

Checking the SIP 2.0.x on page 7 shows:

The protocol that will be used to transfer files from the boot server depends on several factors including the phone model and whether the bootROM or SIP application stage of provisioning is in progress.

TFTP and FTP are supported by all SoundPoint® and SoundStation® phones.

The SoundPoint® IP 301, 430, 501, 600 and 601 and SoundStation® IP 4000 bootROM also supports HTTP.

Above confirms that the SPIP500 simply does not support HTTP. There is nothing you can do other than setting up a FTP or TFTP server.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
