I can change the DHCP hostname in the UI menu, but I can't seem to change it in the config file, which means a trip to every phone to set the configuration.  I've tried putting the following snippet from the .../Config/site.cfg file:

<device device.hostname="Root" device.set="1">
    <device.hostname device.hostname.set="1">
    </device.hostname>
  </device>

Into reg-basic.cfg, but it doesn't work, am I missing something?  Can this be done?

UC 4.0.10.0568 if it matters.

Thanks!

Hello wpns,

Did you actually specify the file mentioned above in the master configuration file <mac>.cfg ?

yes, it's in reg-basic, and it's getting pulled down from theFTP server, it's just not changing the DHCP Client name

Hello wpns,,

I briefly tested this and it works.

I suggest you lower your configuration log level to event 1 and check your logs.

Figured it out, you have to reboot twice:

Once for it to pick up the new setting, and a second time for it tell the DHCP server about it's new setting.

Doh!

Thanks!
