Can someone tell me if there is a setup guide for the Tri0 8800 on a Mitel 3300 system.

We have Trio now able to receive calls to its ext and those incoming calls are using the SIP line we setup for it but when we try to call out from the trio it is using our Exchange 2010 server SIP trunks to make the call which have restrictions on them, eg no outbound calls.

How do we force the Trio to use the dedicated SIP trunk we have for it which has the permissions we want it to use?

Hello KRP,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The Trio would use it's SIP credentials to register to a SIP server.

It would then send an INVITE to this SIP server.

I am not sure how you expect the end point to be aware that there are restrictions and the only way to add a special code would be to utilize the digitmap. This is described in the FAQ.

Other than the above I am unsure how we could help and you may need to work with Mitel on the interoperability testing side of things.

I am not expecting the endpoint (Trio) to know there are restrictions, I was asking for help on how to setup the SIP settings so that the trio uses the designated SIP trunck my phone tech has programmed for it and not grab one of the Exchange SIP trunks.

I am looking through the admin guide but as you know this is not a short document and to a new customer there is a lot to figure out especially since programming Polycom phones is not what I do on a daily basis.

We were able to find an old Mitel document for Configuring the Polycom RealPresence Platform with Mitel MCD but its not for the Trio and thought posting here that we may actually get some helpful response or direction? We are not looking for you to do it just provide some help in the right direction but perhaps my expectation on the support here was too high?

Hello KRP,

Any Mitel specialists are more than welcome but we Polycom employees can only comment on the Polycom phone end.

I suggest you simply search some Mitel orientated forums as the Trio, just like an SPIP6000 or SPIP7000 or even some old SpectraLink instructions, simply add the Polycom phones as 3rd party devices.

We have followed a Mitel setup guide and have a SIP trunk dedicated to the Trio. Trio can receive and call internally just fine but external calls are not working.

When we watch the logs on the Mitel 3300 we have found that calls to the Trio ext (610) are using the designated sip trunk. But when you dial out from the Trio it is using sip trunks setup for our Exchange server.

Is there a guide for the Polycom setup to that we can confirm we at least have that side setup right. I have been troubleshooting the settnigs in the SIP Line Identification and SIP Server on the Simple setup as well as under the settings area but can't seem to confirm if we are doing it right.

Thanks for any help.

You might want to check for this document on MiTel Online which will give you the best steer for configuring a Polycom endpoint on MiTel. Note that you are playing in an unsupported territory. "Configure MCD 4.1 for use with the Polycom SoundStation IP7000 SIP CoE 08-5159-00020" "Multiline IP Set Configuration On the Mitel 3300 ICP, a SIP device type can be programmed either in the User and Device Configuration form or the Multiline IP Sets form and it should be programmed as a “Generic SIP Phone”."
