Got a problem with sign-on's on VVX phones. Looks like you cannot sign-on if you have an '&' (or a few others such as '(' or ')') in your password. Seems to always fail.

 

Of course can sign in with PIN and extension but for EWS to work correctly this needs to be user / domain / password.

 

Hopefully something that could be fixed?

Hello Matt,

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

Hello Matt,

& / aka ampersand should be supported. Are you just unable to add these via the virtual keyboard or have you added these and the sign in does not work.

 

If you did and it does not work we require you to raise a Service Ticket with Polycom support via your Polycom reseller.

Hi,

 

Entering via web GUI - almost impossible to sign in on a VVX410 any other way, transitioning between keyboards to dial on the 0-9 keypad is painful.

 

I'll raise a ticket - I won't hold my breath though, no one picked up the last ticket at all.

Confirmation that it's the web gui where the fault lies. I can login with & on a VVX500 via the touch keyboard..

 

By the way, the preferences, additional preferences in the web GUI is also broken on Microsoft IE - the script hangs at the spinning java display. FF38 works fine though.

Hi Steffen,

 

Ticket finally assigned as 1-813313301 - however much of my detail was lost in the route between myself and Polycom (I contacted reseller, reseller contacted distributor, distributor outsources support to another company who contacted Polycom). 

 

Here are the two issues as I sent them to my supplier:

 

UC version 5.3.0

VVX 410/VVX510 (probably the same on VVX600 too but not yet tested).

Lync 2013

 

1. Web configuration utility on VVX phones cannot login with user credentials if the password has special characters e.g. & (ampersand). Direct authentication entered on the phone works ok but entering this on the VVX410 is very tedious and cannot be performed remotely.

 

2. Web configuration utility on VVX phones hangs when using Microsoft Internet Explorer all versions 8 through 11 when you select Preferences, Additional Preferences - the splash screen appears 'Loading' but never completes. The same process on Firefox 30+ works correctly.

I seen 1-813322134 and 1-813313301 being raised via your reseller. I have made my Tier 2 colleagues aware and once they reproduced this I will work with Engineering to get this addressed.

Thanks Matt.  Our 13270 is connected to Polycoms 1-813313301 & the inmformation lost in translation has been added to both tickets.

FYI.  Your communication with the Helpdesk is direct to Polycoms largest distributor, there is no sub-contracting.
