I am reading the Admin Guide and got far enough to see there are many deplyoment options. Before I read 500 pages of how to set this phone up can someone confirm my gut that with 1 Trio 8800 there are no reasons to even consider the central, web, etc options and I should only be using the local setup?

Unless there are some amazing features that would be missing?

Hello KRP,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

If this is just a single unit you do not require a server.

The Software Updates or importing of configuration files can all be done via the Web Interface or using a USB stick.

Thanks Steffen for the quick response.

The Admin Guide does state its geared towards Ent deployment and I am skiming to see if there is a section more focused on my single deployment scenario. Are you aware of a more trimmed down setup guide or will I need to filter through 500 pages and trim out only what I need?

ADDED: We will only be starting with it as a conf phone with no UC features.

Hello KRP,

I think you simply worry to much and should instead enjoy your new phone.

As mentioned before either LYNC or SIP credentials can simply be provided via the web interface by simply following the individual FAQ posts.

Anything else can be imported via the web interface or USB stick if required.
