Hello everybody,

we are pleased to announce the UC Software 5.5.3.3441 release for both the Polycom Trio 8800 and Polycom Trio 8500.

Main Features:

  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.2
    Polycom Trio systems now support Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.2.
    You can configure the TLS Protocol for the following supported applications:
    ▪ LDAP
    ▪ SIP
    ▪ SOPI
    ▪ Web server
    ▪ XMPP
    ▪ Exchange Services
    ▪ Syslog
    ▪ Provisioning
    ▪ 802.1x

  • Support for Video-based Screen Sharing VBSS (Receive Only)
    Polycom Trio 8800 and 8500 systems now use Video-based Screen Sharing (VbSS) format to receive Skype for Business content. You can configure this feature using content.vbss.enable parameter allowing users to receive content with a better frame rate and quality.
    However, if any participant in a Skype for Business conference does not support VbSS, the Skype for Business server content switches from VbSS to Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) content.

  • AirPlay Discovery over Bluetooth for Polycom Trio 8800

    UC Software 5.5.3 enables users to discover and connect to Polycom Trio 8800 over AirPlay using Bluetooth when the Polycom Trio system and Apple device are on different networks. When Bluetooth is enabled on the Apple device on Polycom Trio 8800, users can connect to a Polycom Trio 8800 that is on a different network and share content during in-room meetings using AirPlay.

    While the Apple device and Polycom Trio 8800 can be on different networks, the two networks must be able to communicate in order for the Polycom Trio to display as an available AirPlay on the Apple device.
    When this feature is enabled, the Bluetooth radio on Polycom Trio 8800 is automatically turned on, as long as Bluetooth is enabled on the system.

    You can configure AirPlay discovery over Bluetooth using the following parameter:
    ▪ content.airplayServer.discovery.bluetooth.enabled

  • SILK Audio Codec
    Polycom Trio systems now support the Skype for Business SILK audio codec.
    To configure the SILK audio codec, refer to the voice.audioProfile.SILK.* and voice.codecPref.SILK.* parameters

  • Support for Polycom EagleEye MSR Camera with Polycom Trio 8800

    You can connect the Polycom® EagleEye™ MSR camera,software version 1.1 or later, to Polycom Trio Visual+ paired with a Polycom Trio 8800 system, with UC Software 5.5.3 or later, for use in rooms configured for MSR.
    After you connect the camera with Polycom Trio 8800, the system automatically uses the camera for video calls placed on the system. You can configure camera controls for the system using the following parameters:
    ▪ video.camera.preset.x.set
    ▪ video.camera.preset.x.pan
    ▪ video.camera.preset.x.tilt
    ▪ video.camera.preset.x.zoom

  • Support for Polycom Visual+ and Logitech c930e with Polycom Trio 8500
    Administrators can now pair a Polycom Trio Visual+ accessory with a Polycom Trio 8500 system and connect a monitor, Logitech Webcam C930e USB camera, and 3.5 mm speakers to the accessory, which users can use for audio calls, video calls, and content sharing.

  • Sandbox Features:

    Dial Favorite, Speed Dial and Contact numbers with PAUSE

    Activation of this feature allows PAUSE (","/"p") or WAIT (";"/"w") characters to be included in the Contact field when creating/editing a Local Directory entry.

    When dialing, the first digits in the Contact field up to the first PAUSE or WAIT character are used to dial out and connect to the conference bridge. When connected to the conference bridge, the PAUSE or WAIT is initiated.

    For PAUSE characters there will be a delay in seconds equal to the number of PAUSE characters. The subsequent digits in the Contact field are then dialed.

    For the WAIT character, a prompt is displayed showing the subsequent digits in the Contact field. When the user selects Send, those digits are dialed.

    Multiple sets of PAUSE/WAIT characters along with digit sequences within a Contact field are supported.

    555-123-5800,12345678 or 555-123-5800p12345678
    or
    555-123-5800;12345678 or 555-123-5800w12345678

    To activate this feature, ensure the following parameter/value pairs are set:

    feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled="1"
    feature.directory.enabled=”1”
    feature.pauseAndWaitDigitEntryControl.enabled=”1”

    One-touch join of a conference bridge with access code from the Calendar:

    When Join is selected for a meeting invitation where the Location field is populated in the Required Format (see below), the <access code> will automatically be dialed one second after connecting to the <conference bridge>.

    Required Format for Location field: <conference bridge number>,<access code>

    NOTE: The body of the meeting invitation is not searched for the <access code>. It must be in the Location field.
