IP321

revision: 4.3.1.0440    30-Jun-11

When I go through the call history, ex. missed call, I can find the caller number but not the time or date of call.

I have tried to reset or update the firmware of one of the phones and now it is dead, just keep rebooting.

But I have more sets and hope I can solve this issue.

Thx,

Hello Ganewbie,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The SPIP321 or any other SoundPoint / SoundStation phones do not support the <mac>-calls.xml functionality described by Dave.

This only works on the VVX Phone range.

The SPIP, as it is an entry level phone, only has limited space on its display to show the caller details.

Pressing the Arrow Down key when a missed call is displayed will show it as:

Pressing the => Key or the Select Key will display more details:

Selecting Info will show:

Will show a Name if associated via the Directory.

Further pressing Arrow Down:

Will show the number / contact.

Further pressing Arrow Down:

Above was tested using the current UCS 4.0.4 Release

Hi Ganewbie

have you checked that <MACaddress>-calls.xml is being generated on the provisioning server?

ensure that:

feature.callList.enabled

feature.callListMissed.enabled

are both set in the config files

Also the voIpProt.SIP.serverFeatureControl.missedCalls="" perameter, if set to 1 the call server has control of missed calls

And that:

call.missedCallTracking.x.enabled

call.serverMissedCall.x.enabled

(where x is the line number you want to enable the feature for) are also enabled in the config files

I hope this helps a bit

Cheers

Hi Steffen

Sorry for the confusion regarding calls.xml......I might need to point out that in the admin guide it does not state that!: Page 110:

Configuring the Call Logs
The phone records and maintains phone events to a call log, also known as a call list. These call logs
contain call information such as remote party identification, time and date of the call, and call duration.
The log is stored as a file in XML format named <MACaddress>-calls.xml to your provisioning server. If
you want to route the call logs to another server, use the CALL_LISTS_DIRECTORY field in the master
configuration file. You can use the call logs to redial previous outgoing calls, return incoming calls, and
save contact information from call log entries to the contact directory. All call logs are enabled by
default.

It does not state that the calls.xml is not supported by non VVX phones...

Just thought I would make you aware (and others)

Cheers

Hello Dave,

not sure what exact version of the Admin Guide you are looking at but the chapter quoted states in UCS 4.0.1 on page 82 as well:

As of Polycom UC Software 4.0.1, the VVX 1500 phones and SpectraLink handsets will remember the previous call history after a restart or reboot.

The Admin Guides are always updated and improved and I will ask our technical writer team to make this more clear in future releases.

Thanks for the quick response and sorry for the delay to respond but I was away for "unplanned" personal reasons and I still have an unhappy client.

Yes It shows the missing calls as you specify exactly but the issue now is when I dialed a number the switch tries couple of gateways and pick one of them.

If you go to view the call history it shows the number you dialed with the prefix that nobody suppose to know about and actually confuse them.

Example:

you dialed 1234567890

what appears in the screen when you check the dialed number is

9990001234567890

How do you make the phone to show only the dialed number?

Thanks,

George

Hello Georg,

your update does not really reflect the original subject.

I would suggest you look into the voIpProt.SIP.CID.sourcePreference parameter.

This may enable you to get the Caller ID from another source. You may want to take a wireshark trace in order to compare what field contains the whole string you seem to receive.
