Hi All
Is it possible for the soundpoint IP phones attached to a Broadsoft PBX, to be configured to auto answer in the config files? I have searched and have confliting answers, some say it can be done:
Add these two lines to the CFG file:
<alertInfo voIpProt.SIP.alertInfo.1.value="Ring Answer" voIpProt.SIP.alertInfo.1.Class="4" />
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hello Dave,
only the VVX has this Auto Answer feature implemented and this is not a feature on the "normal" SPIP / SSIP phones.
There is no way to set this via a configuration file and only the SIP header is a suitable solution.
For any changes to the standard software a feature request has to be submitted via your Polycom reseller. This is outlined in the FAQ.

Hello Dave,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Oct 25, 2011 Question: How can I change my Ringtone or Ring in a special manner for a certain incoming call?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
I would seriously suggest to test this with a current software like UCS 4.0.4.

Thanks for the reply...... is there any way of doing this WITHOUT using SIP INFO headers??
Why is the VVX series able to allow auto answer without SIP INFO headers yet the SoundPoint xxx cant?? Surely there is just a simple edit to a config file that would allow such an action without header manipulation???
Cheers
Dave
