In our trial of Lync 2010 with SoundPointIP phones running UC4.0.1, we are seeing that PSTN calls from Polycom phones are not sending correct caller id.

A call from the Lync 2010 client to PSTN looks shows this in the Lync Logging tool:

I bolded the part in the SIP header where the source caller id appears. The Mediation Service sends the INVITE to our gateway with the following header:

INVITE sip:919165551212@do-mediant.losrios.edu;user=phone SIP/2.0
FROM: "Williams, Mark"<sip:+19165552020@lrccd-lync01.lrccd.ad.losrios.edu;user=phone>;epid=4E5609329C;tag=cbf9dc2499

Now, if the same call is dialed from a SoundPointIP phone, the header looks like this:

I'm not sure where the problem really lies at here. The Lync server should know that this is a PSTN call and put in my defined TEL number in the header, but it doesn't. Any ideas?

Hello Mark,

I formatted your post using code tags so it can be read a bit easier.

The Polycom LYNC Integration implemented in the UCS 4.0.1 is very basic and relies on your LYNC Installation normalization rules.

Please work with the Microsoft LYNC Community on this as full LYNC Dialplan integration will only be implemented on a later release sometime this year.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
