I am trying to setup a new SoundStation IP 6000 with a Cisco UCM 8.5 following in broad strokes the guidance in http://supportdocs.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/global/documents/support/setup_maintenance/pro... The SoundStation IP 6000 is running SIP Software Version 3.3.3.0069 and BootROM Software Version 4.3.1.0887 . The phone has the solid phone icon to indicate that it is registered and it stays that way. However, the UCM server shows the phone unregistered 99% of the time. Every once in a while it shows registered and I can call from a Cisco desktop phone to the SoundStation IP conference phone but I cannot call from the SoundStation to the Cisco phone and, most of the time, I cannot call in either direction. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hello Apu,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The Guide shows in detail how to set this up and I was part of writing the guide so I am 100% convinced that this all works.

As a first I would suggest to upgrade the phone itself to the latest supported software UCS 4.0.7

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Once this has been done you could follow the below to troubleshoot.

Jan 19, 2012 Question: How to troubleshoot Polycom VoIP related Issues?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

If the above fails please contact your Polycom reseller for further support.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
