I have an IP6000 that no longer succeeds with a DHCP request. It's powering via POE but the phone fails to get an address nor can I see it make a request at the server. If I set a valid address manually I cannot ping the phone or access the web interface. I reset the phone but that has not changed my results. It's running rev 4.1.1.

My experience tells me it's a problem with the ethernet interface but I wanted to ask if there is anything else to try before shipping for repair.

Hi Bill,

I saw this exact issue with a Polycom IP 550 recently.

We identified the issue was caused by a bent pin in the ethernet interface, as our customer had inserted an RJ11 plug instead of an RJ45.

I was able to fix it with a pair of tweezers.

No such luck I'm afraid. All the pins are straight and not touching each other.

Hello  Bill,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

A common mistake that is made in the field that could damage the Ethernet port on a SSIP phone (or any SIP phone) is to utilize a SoundStation 2 (analog) power supply with a non original Polycom supplied cable.

Not knowing the history of the unit in your case or such possibility I would suggest you contact your Polycom reseller or Polycom support directly for your RMA options.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
