I have a SoundStation IP 7000 unit (part# 2201-40000-001) and have two external mics (part# 2201-40040-001). Each mic came with a connecting cable (part# 2457-40017-001) that works, but unfortunately the cable is not long enough for our needs. We have purchased what we thought were the correct longer cables, but they do not work. We bought a 14P Mini VGA, 3M (part# 2457-28978-001) and a 14P Mini VGA, 4.6M (part# 2457-23215-001) but neither will work. Not only that there is a notched end on the longer cables we ordered which is on the wrong side preventing us from inserting it fully into the external mic. We even attempted to trim the rubber and make our own notch to get the cable to fit, but it still didn't work (didn't think it would anyway).
I have since found the following document and lo and behold the 4.6M cable part number looks to be correct, but as I said above it doesn't work: https://support.polycom.com/content/dam/polycom-support/products/Voice/soundstructure/setup-maintena...
Anyone have any experience with this? Are we just ordering the wrong cable (even though one of the two we purchased shows correct according to Polycom's document)?
I am having the same problem. I ordered several 15' cables (P/N: 2457-23215-001) and they do not work. I have SoundStation IP 7000s and the 6' foot cables that came with the extension Mics work. Not only is including a 6' cable ridiculous, but frustrating that the long cables don't work!
Confirmed in the document (https://support.polycom.com/content/dam/polycom-support/products/Voice/soundstructure/setup-maintena...) that these cables are listed.
Hoping to get a response from Polycom on what the CORRECT cable is.
