Hello

Our company wants to run Soundstation IP 7000 as Speaker and  microphone for SIp Softphones and video conferance systems. But when I plug in the Mini USB from the soundstation to the regular USB to my computer nothing happens. Is this supported yet? I have tried to upgrade to latest version via Polycoms update URL.

I know it says that this USB will be activated in later software release in some online stores. But the Soundstation has been out for quite some time...

Regards

Hello Erlend,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This is not currently on the roadmap as far as I am aware. Usually the USB Connection (as the one one the SPIP650,670 or VVX1500/500) are being used for USB recording or if compatible a picture frame.

I highly doubt that the USB Port is ever going to be used as a Speaker Phone / Microphone solution as we have the C100 => here <= that covers this functionality.

You could possibly use the Internet / Computer Calling Kit that uses the 2.5mm => 3.5mm connector instead.

Regards

Hi,

Currently we are using Polycom Communicator C100S devices in our conference rooms, but we are looking for something more "powerful" and SoundStation IP 7000 with external microphones seems to be a good option for us but only if it has a USB Speaker Phone / Microphone functionality.

We need new devices that can be connected to laptop USB port and should have 2 extended microphones. For us telephone (digital or analog) functionality is not needed, so it should be very minimum. We will use those devices only with computer with Hangouts or Skype for Business software as we do it now with Polycom Communicator C100S.

Please advise if we can use SoundStation IP 7000 as USB Speaker Phone / Microphone? If not, can you suggest a USB Polycom model with 2 external microphones?

Thank you in advance.
