Hi,

We recently acquired three used Soudpoint IP 550 phones to supplement the six we already have. All of the functions work, but for some reason the mute, speakerphone, and headset indicators do not light up when activated. Our IT guy updated the firmware yesterday, but that did not fix the problem. Any thoughts (other than "don't buy used equipment")?

Thanks!

Hello KG5280,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version.

  • Have the phones be factory reset in order to ensure any prior programming has been removed ?

  • Did you try the diagnostic mode to see if the LED's are working ?

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hi Steffen,

I am having the same issues with my SoundPoint IP 550. We tried a factory reset and I did also go into the diagnostic mode to see if the LED ligths work... they do no problem.

Thanks,

Brittani

I know this is really old, but I ran into the same issue. I am using some IP 550 phones with an old Talkswitch PBX (Fortvoice). I provisioned the phones to  software 4.013 and then re-provisioned the phones to the PBX. Loading 4.013, the LEDs (line, handsfree, mute, headset) all worked fine. When I loaded the Talkswich configuration none of the LEDs worked anymore even though they worked fine on the diagnostics. The talkswitch loaded some 3.3 features and I got a warning on the phone. Just a marriage or older configuration settings with newer UC software but it buggers up the LED lights even though the functions themselves work (mute, handsfree, etc.). So I rebooted the phone to factory settings (still had my 4.013 UC software) and manually registered the phones with the Talkswitch PBX without loading the old Talkswitch configuration files and voila, my LEDs still work. I imported a features.cfg file I wrote to setup proper messaging and softkeys, etc.

It is the third party configuration settings that are causing you to lose the LED lights
