Just bought a used Soundpoint IP320 to add to my business phone system and want to configure to my settings via web configuration from my laptop. I know the IP address but it won't let me access the web interface to enable to me to change the settings. Have tried doing various local and device resetting to remove old configuration but the phone consistently looks for a boot server each time it reboots. When it finds no boot server it tries to revert to the original configuration which it now says has an error and I am now stuck in a loop where the phone cant boot up at all.

Can anyone help at all?

Followed the proposed solution but no joy. There seems to be an error in the current configuration settings that prevents the phone from booting up. I have followed various suggestions regarding manually adjusting the settings but none seem to work. I have an IP335 also which I set up previously as a standalone unit. I followed the same guidance which I successfully used on that phone on this new IP320 but it doesn't respond and continues to seek the Boot Server.

I don't know anything about ftp so want to configure the phone using the web interfaceas I did with the IP335. I don't know why the phone wont let me access it via my web browser.

Is there a full hard reset that can be done to override the error in the existing configuration settings?

Hello Stuimac,

this is all covered in the FAQ. Formatting the File system will wipe the Phone and require a Provisioning Server to load the Software.

Can you Ping the Phone or does it even get an IP Address. A wireshark trace could tell you if there is any communication between the Network Port and the Switch.

Why can you not access the Web interface ? The Information you provided so far is limited.

Regards

The phone has an IP address and I have been able to Ping it.

Don't know why it won't let me access via web interface. Assume that Formatting the File system has complicated matters.

How do I go about reloading the software? Is there a Polycom ftp server I can point the phone at to get this?

Let me know what other information you might need?

Hello stuimac,

we only supply the details to our customer FTP Server to customers dealing with the Polycom Global Services support team and the original seller should have provided you with the details why they possibly deactivated the HTTP Web Interface.

My original reply contained a Hyperlink that leads you to a document on how to setup a Freeware Filezilla FTP Server and provision the Phone from scratch with the latest available Software.

This is an very easy task and the only hurdle may be the firewall on your PC.

Please follow up on the provided Information within the FAQ.

If you still struggle you may want to contact a Polycom Reseller and / or Polycom Support via the PPI (Pay per Incident) procedure.

Best Regards
