Hello! We have a bunch of IP335 units deployed in an organization. We recently upgraded to firmware version 4.0.9. After upgrading call lists continue to work fine except the placed call list first shows the external callerID number of the hanset which is placing the call THEN the dialed number. This is not a problem on VVX or soundpointIP 450+ models because the display is larger. On the Soundpoint IP335's though the display is small and in the placed call list every call shows as the phones external outgoing callerID until you go into more info on each call log entry. I looked at the admin guide for 4.0.9 and except for the basic settings to enable and disable each call list I did see mention of the fact that the phone saves call logs and *maybe* you can open those, reshuffle the xml/delete some things, and on reboot the phone will pick up the new file and omit the new fields you dont want. The only problem is that while the phones are saving their overrides/setting changes as well as contact lists the phones are not uploading their call logs at reboot so I have nothing to edit and reupload. Now that I have explained the backstory and what I have tried to do do resolve the issue can someone advise if:

1) Am I on the correct track here in editing the call list xml files or is there a better way to get rid of the outbound callerID field in the placed calls list?

2) How do I get the phones to start saving and loading their call lists to the server so I can edit and have them re-format the placed calls list? All our phones download and upload via ftp.

Here is basically the mac.cfg file header which sets all the save paths (which do exist and work for all but the call lists it seems) regardless if I am missing a call list path setting it should just save in the root of the ftp user home directory by default anyways:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>

  <APPLICATION

     CONTACTS_DIRECTORY="polycom/contacts"

     OVERRIDES_DIRECTORY="polycom/overrides"

     LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="polycom/logs"

     LICENSE_DIRECTORY="polycom/directory"

     APP_FILE_PATH="polycom/1/sip.ld"

     CONFIG_FILES="0004f22bd806-features.cfg, 0004f22bd806-192.cfg, 0004f22bd806-sip-interop.cfg"

     MISC_FILES=""

     >

  </APPLICATION>

Thanks for any help!

Hello joshrr,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Aug 07, 2015 Question:Why are Polycom SoundPoint or SoundStation IP Phones not uploading their Calls.XML list?

Resolution: This is only a supported feature on the VVX Phone range

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

Utilizing entry level phones comes with certain restrictions as there is only that much screen space the phones can utilize to display information.

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UCS Software?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above explains how you could work with a Polycom reseller to request a change to the current software if the business case is valid.
