All;

    I'm using a mix of Polycom phones (mostly 670's) and I'm syslogging to a PBX running CentOS 6.6 using syslog-ng. My problem is that right now the phones are being logged to a directory where the directory is named by the ip address of the phone. For example, phone logs are logged to directories 192.168.2.100 or 10.10.10.10 which isn't very helpful especially when multiple customers have the same network numbering scheme like 192.168.2.0/24. My question is this: Is it possible to log to syslog-ng using the MAC address? This may be a limitation in syslog-ng but I was hoping someone had devised a work around.

Thanks;

Frank

Hello Frank,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The Syslog menu allows you to prepend the MAC Address of the phone.

This can also be setup via a configuration and is explained in the Admin Guide.
