Have a Soundstation IP 4000 that we're trying to configure for SIP. We were able to reset the administrator pw within the menu config, but that doesn't seem to update the boot password. Also, many of the administrator functions seem to be missing! For example, when you go to settings--> advanced all that shows is change password and reboot machine. No options for configuring SIP, no options for uploading a new config.

And when you go to the IP address assigned on a browser, you can't get to the admin web interface.

Was this machine somehow customized with a new config? How do we return it to stock factory settings?

Thanks,

~ Rich

Hello Rich,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The SSIP4000 is end of sale so it must be an older or second hand unit.

What you describe seems that you are either not using the standard 456 password or a previous user has changed the admin password and you are only using a user password.

We do not disclose within this official Polycom community how to reset the Phones if the Admin Password is lost.

Many of our partners utilize these phones and offer services so we cannot publicly disclose the procedure to do so.

We will remove any post replying to this that will publicly explain how to remove the password.

To answer your follow up questions the community's VoIP FAQ contains most likely answers to all your follow up questions.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
