Hi,

We have just purchased one of these devices, to use with our Panasonic KX-NCP500 SIP phone system.

Plugged it in and configured a SIP extension, with password, with the server address and for some reason it refuses to register.

What are we missing? we have tried to get advice elsewhere and cant seem to find the issue at all.

The phone is getting an DHCP IP no problems.

These are some of the lines from the phone logs:

Hello Mattbc,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

The Log shows:

000108.848|sip |4|03|Registration failed User: 192.168.0.101, Error Code:404 Not Found

This points to either having used the wrong User or some other issue.

The Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Can I register or is my Polycom Phone compatible with a “XYZ” SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above is a simple instruction for any SIP server as officially the instructions on how to setup a Polycom phone should come from the SIP Server supplier as they would have done the relevant interoperability testing.

Also look at:

Jan 19, 2012 Question: How to troubleshoot Polycom VoIP related Issues?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

If the above does not get you any further please raise this with Panasonic support as they would have done the relevant interoperability testing.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
