We are using Jive with our Polycom VVX 411 phones and I'm having an issue where 1 of my phones will occassionaly reboot and when looking through the logs Jive support recommended that I set my DNS servers to 126.96.36.199 & 188.8.131.52. I went into settings / advanced / admin settins / network config and set them. I also verified that they were set when I log into the web portal. When I go to Settings / Status / Network / TCP/IP Parameters the DNS Server and DNS Alt. Server are still showing as the old one. I have tested this on another phone as well and see the same thing. I have restarted both phones a few times and verified that the DNS servers are still set but the old ones still showing under status. What can I do to get this setup properly? Thanks.
Hello @PaulHackett ,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Both the community's Must Read First and the community's FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.
This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.
As a reminder the basic information asked for:
UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package
Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Polycom to have an overview of the current software used. In addition providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up a potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.
Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.
Not knowing the exact config you have used I assume you would also need this:
<test tcpIpApp.dns.address.overrideDHCP="1" />
Otherwhise we take what we get from DHCP
