Trio 8800 POE Question

Our hotel doesn’t have POE ports, and after doing some digging I’m trying to find out if purchasing the power injector would allow me to use the 8800 as a standard polycom on our hotel Ethernet ports.

Re: Trio 8800 POE Question

Thanks Steffen. Will this allow me to use the trio 8800 with our non POE ports?

Re: Trio 8800 POE Question

Hello @encore1118,

Just to reiterate Polycom recommend the use of the Polycom supplied mid-span power injector since we’ve tested and certified it to ensure it meets regulatory, safety and EMC requirements.

Having said that, Polycom Trio 8800 and Trio 8500 are compliant with IEEE 802.1af respectively IEEE802.1at.

Using either the original Polycom one or one that fits the above it will enable the PoE on a normal network port.
