Hi i'm currently using a trio 8800 which is setup for skype for business. I wanted to add an option to dial into zoom meetings and i've seen posts about setting up a second line which creates a zoom button on the phone: https://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP-SIP-Phones/FAQ-Add-Zoom-interoperability-to-the-Polycom-Trio/t...

i copied the unregistered config to my polycom and the zoom button appeared, however when click the button it dials once and instantly hangs up. i'm not sure if the config is missing something or a little outdated? i just want our staff to be able to hit the button and join with a meeting ID and passcode if possible without making things too complicated for them.

Hello @commodoret ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

It is always useful to provide basic information like the currently used software version and for example, as outlined in the mentioned FAQ post, if this is a Trio only or with a Visual+/VisualPro attached.

To my personal knowledge Zoom only allows video calls so if it is a standalone installed Trio you may want to test and add the Dummy Line as shown in example 3.

Apologies Stephen,

the software version is: 7.0.3.0232, its a standalone trio 8800. i do believe we have a visual box somewhere in the box my manager bought a long time ago. as for creating the dummy config file do i simply copy that text into a notepad file save as .cfg and upload it?

Hello @commodoret ,

simply add the line to the existing configuration already imported and then report back.

Hi additional problem now, the real presence visual+ that has never been used has stopped working. I just got it out of the box plugged it all in and it showed on the TV but once it had finished updating from the paired phone its stuck in a reboot loop. sits on the polycom screen turns off and turns on again.

i tried power cycling and holding the pair button to reset as i saw that on google but it does nothing. any other ways to hard reset the device?

hi I thought I mentioned that I tried to reset it using the method mentioned in the post you sent. Pulled out Ethernet let it turn back on hold the button after light disappears and nothing happens.

Hello @commodoret ,

You did mention Google but not that it got you to our FAQ here. The method described in the FAQ is tested and works and is the only method.

I am also struggling to understand why you want to use the Visual+ unit now when it was used before without it and seemed to have worked fine. I suggest you try the instructions on how to add the 2nd line for Zoom with the Video line.

If this works you can then try to add the Visual+ but if you are using Skype for Business online this will most likely not work as our Partner Microsoft has not certified this.

If this still fails I suggest you open a ticket if no other volunteers can help you.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support. Available End User Poly services offerings are detailed here

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

I didn’t even know we had a visual+ unit at first. it was something my previous manager bought and never used.

as it stands right now all our conferencing is done via skype and sfb accounts are signed into the polycom trios. But as we’ve started using zoom for video calls we want to try and make use of pre existing kit. So ideally audio calls via polycom on Skype and if possible video conferencing using the same polycoms. otherwise next options are two sets of kit in meeting rooms which I’d prefer not to use.

I did add the config for the video but didn’t get a chance to test it as after the visual+ updated it stopped working and has been stuck in endless reboot loops with the factory reset method not working.

Hello @commodoret ,

Both the Trio 8800/8500 or Visual+ method described in our FAQ works as I am doing this multiple times a week for customer issues. It's a timing issue and following the guides as described.

Other volunteers are invited to comment and if this fails you always have support as described.
