Nice read and a great resolution. I hope it resolves my issue as well.

A yellow dot is appearing on all our devices on setting button (which is disturbing some users).

This is happening with all our RealPresence Trio(s) 8800.

It highlights a power supply warning (PoE not powerful enough for USB charging and PSE connected on TRIO)

USB Charging is disabled

Power Sourcing Equipment : Enabled

Power Sourcing Equipment Class0:13W

All our switch are PoE+ class 4 fully supported.

Will the above fix resolve the issue for Trio 8800 also ?

Thanks

Hello Shashank18,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have moved your reply from the totally unrelated post => here <=

All the yellow dot on the settings icon on the Trio means that there is a error or warning within the Settings => Status => Diagnostic => Warnings menu.

For your new issue it is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition it would also be useful to provide details on the switch model and make and software version of this and maybe a configuration backup of this.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Hello Shashank18

Were you able to find a solution to that PoE+ issue ?

I'm having the same issue on my Trio with 5.4.5 version and a Cisco 2960S-48FPS switch PoE+ capable. I've also forced 30W power on the switch's port but it doesn't change anything. The Visual+ won't power up and I get the same warning you have on the Trio.

Solved ! You need to enable LLDP on the switch since the Trio cannot negotiate PoE over CDP.

I found this in a Trio release notes :

Power over Ethernet Negotiation in CDP Environments

The RealPresence Trio system does not support power negotiation over Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) with Cisco switches using CDP. CDP is supported for VLAN negotiation. If you are powering RealPresence Trio using an IEEE 802.3af power over Ethernet compliant switch, power budget is negotiated by a hardware handshake at power up - CDP is not used. If powering the RealPresence Trio using an IEEE 802.3at power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) switch, the RealPresence Trio power budget is negotiated through a combination of hardware handshake and LLDP.
