I am still working on configuring our VVX410 to see if it can replace the Cisco phones we have connected up to our Cisco UCM 8.6 system. I am having trouble trying to configure the DND button to send users directly to voice mail (and even what happens on Reject). Going through the manuals and posts I have tried a lot of different things but just cannot get it to work.

Here is how our Cisco phones work: A call comes in. You can press iDivert which sends the call directly to voice mail, which it gets to by dialing 2779.

Trying to program DND send everything to 2779 but cannot get it to work. I tried to create a contact with the name Voicemail with a number 2779 and have it dial that, but that did not work. I put 2779 directly on the contact line in the GUI but that did not work. Both times I get "the number you have dialed in a non-working number"

It could be settings as I cannot even get the BLF to work as a user. Even though the Provisioning Server seems to be working as all of the log files for my phone are generating correctly, the EFK features that I turned on are not working.

Getting very frustrated with this as it seems like I am pretty close but just a step or 2 away from getting this working fully.

Thanks for any pointers which may include better ways to understand the manuals.

Hello Dave,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The answer is pretty simple.

The VVX410 in your example, unlike our SPIP phones, is simply not supported on the Cisco Call Manager platform.

Cisco utilizes proprietary SIP signaling and therefore even something basic as BLF will not work.

Only Polycom Soundstations are officially supported on the Cisco CUCM platform.

OK. I knew some things will not work, just not how much. If I cannot get the DND working, I would like to see about having the directory hit our AD to pull up the dialing directory and be able to change the phone buttons as a user where currently to add a speed dial I need to be an admin.

I have tried to change the settings using the cfg files and those do not seem to be working. IT appears the provisioning server is working I know it is hitting the ftp site since my phone log files are being written there, I just cannot seem to get it to read the changes (like enable mods to the EFK and settings to reach Active Directory)

Is there anything in the logs that would help or any logs I could send that would say why these changes are not coming through to the phone? Since these are outside the UCM area, it should work.

While working on that I am also going to see if I can connect this up to Lync 2013.....

Yeah, went through those and could not get anything to work. That is why I was hoping something in the log would tell me if it was not downloading the CFG files correctly (or if it was ) so I could troubleshoot more. I have made the changes to the cfg file but since I do not see them on the phone I am thinking it is an error applying the cfg files. Is there anything in the logs that could tell me that? I have not checked the ftp logs on the ftp server to see what they say, but will check those later on.

Thanks much for all the help
