Polycom SPIP 550
UCS 3.3.5
A while ago I disabled SIP URL dialing to avoid caller number displaying as SIP URI.
A few days ago I tried to use a line set to register="0".
As soon as I pressed the line key, "SIP URL dialing is disabled" was displayed.
To confirm that register="0" is the cause I temporarily set another line, normally set to register="1", to register="0" (no other changes): pressing that line key also displayed "SIP URL dialing is disabled".
The firmware seems to assume, wrongly, that a line set to register="0" is being used for SIP URL dialing. I don't think there is any logic to support this assumption.
Does the 4.0 firmware behave the same?
I have an open bug in 4.0.0-4.0.11 scheduled to be fixed in 4.0.12, thus haven't updated yet.
If 4.0 behaves as described above I'd like to report that too, hopefully for a fix in 4.0.12.
Thanks!
Hello bitbanger,
welcome back to the Polycom Community.
Do you have any case number for => here <= ?
There is no such software version as 4.0
There is only UC Software 4.0.0 up until 4.0.11
4.1.0 and 4.1.1 are for LYNC only.
UC Software 3.3.5 is no longer supported or maintained. You will need to update to a currently supported version like 4.0.11

I just sent you a PM with the case #; I don't wish to publish it here.
Strictly speaking there is no software version 4.0, so let's say 4.0.11.
I understand that UCS 3.3.5 is no longer maintained.
I do believe I made it clear why I am not updating to 4.0.11.
The reason for my post was to attempt to find out if 4.0.11 exhibits the same behavior as 3.3.5. If so I will open a case in the hope of the error (IMO) being corrected in the upcoming 4.0.12.
